Under normal circumstances there is no rule, when an orthodontic treatment should start, however we recommend the age of 9-12. At this time, the growth potential of the patient is still optimal. In this period, change of secondary tooth takes places. That means deciduous(otherwise known as milk teeth, baby teeth, temporary teeth)premolar teeth and canines begin to fall out. If this is the case, it is the optimal time for an orthodontic treatment under normal conditions.
In some cases, it is also medically useful to begin an earlier orthodontic treatment. For example, an extreme level due to hereditery and it can be worser by tongue trusting.
